Ammonia emissions and fine particulate matter: some evidence in Lombardy
نویسندگان
چکیده
Lombardy is one of the most polluted regions at European level, also due to its particular geographical structure and weather conditions which prevent pollutants’ dispersion, high levels emissions coming from human activities. Recently, some evidence has been found regarding relationship between agriculture air quality, particularly ammonia - produced mainly by livestock sector particulate matter concentrations. In this respect, first Italian region for production, having 69% area classified as agricultural land about 245 swine 92 bovines per rural km2. Agriculture Impact On Air project (AgrImOnIA, https://agrimonia.net, funded Fondazione Cariplo within framework Data Science science society), we aim predict continuously in space (i.e. mapping) pollutants concentrations region, taking into account meteorology, use agriculture. regard, data integration harmonization process have carried out starting different sources characterized spatial temporal resolutions. The results are based on spatio-temporal Kriging models, with external drift, an extension traditional random forest algorithm consider correlation. These models will be used generate scenario analysis simulates impact policy interventions mitigate environmental quality.

Network Analysis of Fine Particulate Matter (PM2.5) Emissions in China
Specification of PM2.5 spatial and temporal characteristics is important for understanding PM2.5 adverse effects and policymaking. We applied network analysis to studying the dataset MIX, which contains PM2.5 emissions recorded from 2168 monitoring stations in China in 2008 and 2010. The results showed that for PM2.5 emissions from industrial sector 8 clusters were found in 2008 but they merged...

Particulate Matter and Ammonia Emission Factors
Emissions rates for particulate matter less than 10 m (PM10) and ammonia (NH3) from commercial tunnel–ventilated broiler houses in central Texas were analyzed using linear regressions to develop emission rates as a function of bird weight for broilers on litter. Interior ambient temperature and relative humidity were not found to be significant factors affecting emissions. From the regression e...
متن کاملModeling atmospheric transport and fate of ammonia in North Carolina—Part II: Effect of ammonia emissions on fine particulate matter formation
Accurate estimates of ammonia (NH3) emissions are needed for reliable predictions of fine particulate matter (PM2.5) by air quality models (AQMs), but the current estimates contain large uncertainties in the temporal and spatial distributions of NH3 emissions. In this study, the US EPA Community Multiscale Air Quality (CMAQ) modeling system is applied to study the contributions of the agricultu...
متن کاملDiversity, abundance and activity of ammonia-oxidizing microorganisms in fine particulate matter
Increasing ammonia emissions could exacerbate air pollution caused by fine particulate matter (PM2.5). Therefore, it is of great importance to investigate ammonia oxidation in PM2.5. This study investigated the diversity, abundance and activity of ammonia oxidizing archaea (AOA), ammonia oxidizing bacteria (AOB) and complete ammonia oxidizers (Comammox) in PM2.5 collected in Beijing-Tianjin-Heb...
